Announcements:
- Parent & Child Class at Sweet Peas Preschool
The Parent & Child class brings parents and their children together in community in a supportive nurturing environment. Together we will experience the cycle of the seasons, through songs, verses, stories and festivals. Parents have the opportunity to explore conscious parenting, make seasonal crafts, and rediscover the home arts. The children, safe in the presence of their loved ones, begin to discover the joy of collaborative imaginative play, while learning and practicing valuable social skills.
The morning rhythm includes creative free play and handcrafts, snack preparation, morning circle with finger games, songs, movement and verse, snack, story, and outdoor play.
Parent & Child classes meet from 9-11am or 10:45-12:45pm Fridays in Sweet Peas Preschool’s Buttercups room. Please state your preference for which class you'd like to attend on your application.
For parents registered for the class, there will be an orientation evening prior to the start of the session. This adults-only meeting will provide you with a valuable orientation to the class and an opportunity to meet our Parent & Child teacher, Annika Fae.
The age requirement is 12 to 36 months old. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Parents registered in the first session receive priority for re-enrollment in subsequent sessions.
There are three sessions, Fall, Winter, and Spring. Each 10 week session costs $255. Session fees are payable at the time of registration. The fee includes all supplies for craft activities and snacks.
- We are currently accepting applications for the 2009-2010 school year. Please call me to schedule a vist to Sweet Peas. (425) 286-7384
- We are opening another class starting October 1st to meet the growing demand for a Waldorf preschool. It will be called the Buttercups and our new teacher will be Annika Fae. Please check back for more updates soon.

Looking for a creative place for your 3-4-5 year old?
Come bring your little one to Sweet Peas Preschool in
my home in Kirkland. I provide a safe, warm, home like environment
where children are allowed to play and explore the natural world
around them. Play is after all the ‘work’ of children.
Every week we will bake and eat home made bread and other homemade
sugar free organic snacks. We will plant, harvest and eat our own
veggies and fruit from our organic garden. We will play with home
made and natural toys made of wood, silk, wool and cotton so children
connect to the natural world. We will celebrate the days, months
and seasons through stories and puppet shows told daily. There is
outside play time for children to get all their energy out and run
around and see if they can discover any fairies or gnomes that might
live in our back yard forest. Each season also brings its own craft
activities.
We will cover various stories throughout the year. With the introduction
of television the art of storytelling has fallen out of use, but
we have been telling stories to each other for centuries. Storytelling
boosts vocabulary and concentration. Stories recited from memory
are the seeds that sprout imagination and creativity in children.
Stories, rhymes and games of all sorts will be covered through out
the year. |
